About API & MCP

What is MCP?

The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets AI assistants use the tools of external services securely. With the Pomercin MCP server, Claude, Codex or ChatGPT can work in Pomercin on your behalf.

Which AIs does it work with?

Claude (web, desktop and Claude Code), OpenAI Codex, ChatGPT, Cursor and other clients that support remote MCP servers.

Do I have to give my password to the AI?

No. The connection uses OAuth on Pomercin’s own consent screen. The AI only works with the permissions you approve.

Can the AI publish without me knowing?

Only if you granted publishing permission. You can limit permissions per workspace and account, see every action in Settings and revoke the connection at any time.

How are credits used?

Exactly as in the app: rendering, AI and publishing actions use credits. Read tools are free, and you get a cost quote before rendering.

What is the difference between the REST API and MCP?

MCP is for AI assistants working conversationally. The REST API lets your own software or automation tools publish directly with an HTTP request.
